Models

Tests/Trades:

Everyone seems to do trade shoots a little bit differently, so I’ve assembled this guide to how I work to avoid any misunderstandings. If we have a shoot set up, I’ll assume you’ve read this and agree to it. If you have any issues with how I work, please bring it up before the shoot. Arrangements can likely be made, but I don't like surprises.

• Image Format: Unless we’re exchanging an unusually large number of images, I deliver all photos digitally either via e-mail or download from my server.

• The editing process: I ask about two weeks to finish editing and retouching from a trade shoot. As a significant part of my work is done in post production, I deliver an average of 2-3 finished images per hour spent shooting. I'm a strong believer in quality over quantity. Low res proofs are available on request so that you can see the entire shoot and request any additional finished images.

• A full model release must be signed before shooting. If you wish to shoot with me but do not wish to sign a release, my rates are very reasonable. In exchange for the release, you of course get a license to use the images for your own self promotion.

• Escorts: Please feel free to bring someone along to a shoot if we've not met before. I don't mind chaperones as long as they are quiet, polite and generally unobtrusive to the shoot. However, I do request that I be advised in advance that they are coming and I reserve the right to ask them to wait outside if they disrupt the shoot.

• Prints: While the shoot itself and the post production work require only an investment of my time and creativity, prints cost me a lot of money. I can give them to you cheap, but I can’t give them to you free. (Sorry!) I charge $5 for a portfolio quality 8x10 of a trade shoot. That’s a few cents more than it costs me to produce them.

• If you’re under 18: I’m very happy to work with under-aged models, but only with permission from both guardians, at least one of whom must be present at the shoot. If you’re under 18 and would like to set up a shoot, please have your mom or dad get in touch with me. Both parents must sign the model release.
